CCF's week of campaigning on the road continues in the Scottish constituency of Mid Fife and Glenrothes, where we campaigned for our friend and IMPACT Course alumni Alex Stewart-Clark to be elected to the Scottish Parliament.
On Saturday we campaigned on a street stall in Leven, went door knocking and conducted voter surveys in Largo. We also attended Leslie Baptist Church on Sunday.
We were joined by a host of Conservative activists including Cameron Buchanan who is standing down as an MSP. We were also joined by glorious sunshine on Saturday and then pouring rain on Sunday!
Alex is committed to depending Scotland's place in the union and opposing tax rises for Scots.
He fought in Glenrothes seat in the 2015 general election where he increased the Conservative vote.
He grew up on a 400-acre arable farm just north of Kirkliston, on land his family has farmed for the past five generations. Understanding the impact of successful businesses in the local community, Alex takes an active role in community leadership. He is trustee of Passion Trust, an organisation that supports the resurgence of Passion Plays in the UK, and is also a church pastor.
Alex is a long-standing supporter of the CCF and his small group’s policy work on the Family Test on our IMPACT Course resulted in the Government adopting the policy in 2014. He also spoke about his experience as a Christian Conservative candidate and campaigner at our Elections Special events in April.
