Listening to Britain’s Churches is a chance for the Christian community to engage directly with the Conservative Party. A ‘Question Time’ style event held at St Peter's Centre, there are no questions barred and all are welcome. This is a chance for the congregations of Loughborough's churches to be heard.

Colin Bloom Executive Director of the Conservative Christian Fellowship
Colin is the Executive Director of the Conservative Christian Fellowship (CCF). He worked for ten years in industry and almost ten years running a charity, as well as being a local councillor for eight years in a large unitary authority and standing for parliament in booth 2005 and 2010. He is passionate about social justice and firmly believe that people of faith have an increasingly important part to play in the public sphere.
The Rt. Hon. Nicky Morgan MP Conservative MP for Loughborough
Nicky Morgan was elected as Conservative MP for Loughborough in 2010. Nicky grew up in Surrey, studied law in Oxford and then worked as a solicitor studying Corporate law from 1994.
In July 2014 Nicky was appointed by the Prime Minister to become Secretary of State for Education, she is also Minister for Women, a role she has held since April 2014
Nicky previously served as Financial Secretary to the Treasury (2014), Economic Secretary to the Treasure (2013 - 14), an Assistant Government Whip (2012 - 13) and the Parliamentary Under Secretary (PSS) to the Rt Hon. David Willets.
Rev. Dave Ashton Senior Minister for Elim Church, Loughborough
Dave is the Senior Minister at Elim Church Loughborough, having taken up his post in September. Previously he ministered in Peterborough and Guilford. He spent over twenty years working with and for young people, serving church, community and school contexts. For ten of those years, Dave worked in a secondary school and was involved in both formal and informal aspects of education, seeing at first hand the challenges and siccesses that come day by day in schools.
Dave has a desire to see Biblical principles and truth being adopted and worked through in public policy abd believes Christians should be actively engaged with the political process. He is married to Susannah and has a daughter who attends a local primary school in Loughborough.
Ness Wilson Senior leadar, Open Heaven
Ness is the Senior Leader of Open Heaven Church, Loughborough which is part of the Pioneer Network of Churches. She studied at Loughborough University and then started the church 20 years ago. She is active in mentoring other female church planters and leaders around the country. Ness is on the Pioneer National Core Team and brings oversight to a few churches, including an exciting partnership with the Methodist church where churches that are about to be closed are being re-purposed.
Ness is also Co-Chair of Loughborough Churches Partnership and has a great passion and vision for unity across the breadth of God's Church and working together to serve our community. She is married to Rich and they live in a community household with their 2 daughters, a mum and her 1 year old daughter.
